Superficially, the 3rd house can feel like a catch-all for every random thing that isn’t already assigned to another house. It’s the house of siblings and neighbors, letters and news, short trips, opinions and sacred observances. The ancients called it “the least good of the good and the least bad of the bad.”
The 3rd house deals with our immediate environment and in Hellenistic Astrology is titled “The House of the Goddess”. This is not just any goddess - it is the house of the Moon.
There’s a reason people get doe-eyed when they spot a crescent slicing the dusk. A reason wolves howl at the Full Moon. A reason the tides go low, then go high. Farmers, for centuries have planted their crop according to the Moon. Countless cultural and religious calendars were based on the movements of the Moon. Electional astrologers, who practice the art of picking the best time to do something, look first at the condition of the Moon. Because the Moon is responsible for creating material impact.
The Moon is the only body that revolves around the earth. The Moon coordinates between us and the rest of the sky. The Moon is connected to mothers. Just like mothers, the Moon mysteriously sees all and is responsible for rallying the people, gathering the energy and getting shit done, regardless of the circumstances.
And the third house is the Moon's house. So if you want the intuitive, connective and effective powers of the Moon, looking to the third house will give you the answers, the energy and the instructions.

What is the format of the course?
The course will take place over one month, from August 3 - August 24. It will include:
Four live lecture calls held on Mondays 5:00-7pm CET. Lecture will be followed by live Q&A. Each call will be recorded and uploaded to the podia course for participants to watch in case they can't make the live class.
Weekly journal prompts.
Weekly prescriptions for embodiment exercises.
Weekly lists of resources for further exploration.
Space for connection, comments and conversation via podia between classes.
Each week will present on a different aspect of the third house space. Through these themes, we will build the third house temple from its innermost to outermost significations. Participants are encouraged to do as much of the "homework" as possible, and to share and connect with one another in the shared learning portal about their third house experiences.
There is an optional add-on of a 45min 1:1 astrological natal chart consult with me in which we will explore your personal third house.

How much astrology do I need to know to take this course?
I designed this course to be accessible to a range of astrological know-how. It is less technically inclined and more focused on meaning in mythos and embodied ritual practice. If you’ve cast your chart before and you have a rudimentary understanding of the planets, signs and houses, you’re good. If you have less than this amount of knowledge, you will likely be able to catch the essentials quickly.
If you are concerned about not having the appropriate technical skillset but really feel this course is for you, I recommend adding a 45min 1:1 session. This way we can get you up to speed real quick.
I’m a professional astrologer. Is this course too beginner for me?
Astrologer Professionals who would like a deeper understanding of the third house will likely still get a lot out of this course as it brings together multiple lineages of facts and philosophies that extend far beyond what is traditionally listed in core texts. Astro-enthusiasts with less elaborate technical skillsets will be totally comfortable participating as well.
I was in the first Templum Aedis cohort in 2023. Is the course the same and is it worth it to join again?
Many of the slides lectures in this round will be similar to the first time I taught this course. That said, so much of my praxis has shifted, expanded and become more refined since that time so there will be new material and the way I teach it will be different too.
