Templum Aedis is a 4-week exploration through the astrological third house. It will walk you through a series of ancient lunar myths, and break down the life instructions encoded within them.
How many times a day do you have a shallow internal conflict? How often do you wince at your boss, your partner, your social media, your laundry? How frequently do you wake up anxious about a thing you think you should have already done? How quickly do you find yourself disassociating…from disassociating? How easily do you slip and slide around details that simultaneously seem so important and so trivial, only to end up spinning?
The third house is where you get caught and where you get untangled. Because it shows up everywhere, getting to know it can have enormous impacts on the quality of your life and the decisions you make.

This course isn’t just an esoteric education on the third house. It’s an initiation. It will demand confrontation with parts of your conscience that are gated, padlocked, and easily avoided. It will teach you to recognize the tensions which distract - the ones between the most superficial layer of your intuition and the assault of cultural conditioning - and push past them to perceive and deal with the critical inquiries you have to face if you want to lead anything. It will show you how to draw out and legitimize the authority of the wildest parts of yourself. Whether you’re making a big change or looking for one, this course will give you the tools to summon, wield and protect the part of you that knows how to handle it.
Superficially, the 3rd house can feel like a catch-all for every random thing that isn’t already assigned to another house. It’s the house of siblings and neighbors, letters and news, short trips, opinions …and sacred observances. The ancients called it “the least good of the good and the least bad of the bad.” Kind of weird and miscellaneous right? I promise there’s a wealth of esotericism that connects all these random topics.
The 3rd house deals with our immediate environment. In Hellenistic Astrology it is titled “The House of the Goddess”. This is not just any goddess - it is the house of the Moon. Every single culture has a powerful lunar diety, often more than one.
The Moon isn’t just powerful in divine myths. The Moon’s gravitational pull creates the ocean tides and stabilises the Earth’s rotation on its axis. Without the Moon, the intertidal zone, home to an enormous number of species that live between land and sea would disappear. Moreover, the Earth’s wobble would become erratic and extreme. In our day-to-day, we don’t realize how much our liveable ecosystem is regulated by the Moon. But in astrology, the Moon is essential.
Electional astrologers, who practice the art of picking the best time to do something, look first at the condition of the Moon. Because the Moon is responsible for creating material impact.
The Moon coordinates between us and the rest of the sky. The Moon is connected to mothers. Just like mothers, the Moon mysteriously sees all and is responsible for rallying the people, gathering the energy and getting shit done, regardless of the circumstances.
And the third house is the Moon's house. So if you want the intuitive, connective and effective powers of the Moon, looking to the third house will give you the answers, the energy and the instructions.
This course is about the esoteric underpinnings of the 3rd astrological house. It will take students through a psycho-mythical education of lunar stories. And it will provide a fundamental framework for spiritual activism that gathers together miscellaneous elements of everyday life and spins them into meaningful and tangible change.

What is the format of the course?
The course will take place over one month, from August 3 - August 24. It will include:
Four live lecture calls held on Mondays 5:00-7pm CET. Lecture will be followed by live Q&A. Each call will be recorded and uploaded to the portal for participants to watch in case they can't make the live class.
Weekly meditations and journal prompts.
Weekly prescriptions for embodiment exercises.
Weekly resources for further exploration.
Space for connection, comments and conversation between classes.
Each week will present on a different aspect of the third house space. Through these themes, we will build the third house temple from its innermost to outermost significations. Participants are encouraged to do as much of the "homework" as possible, and to share and connect with one another in the shared learning portal about their third house experiences. Pre-course materials will become available on July 29th.

How much astrology do I need to know to take this course?
I designed this course to be accessible to a range of astrological know-how. It is less technically inclined and more focused on meaning in mythos and embodied ritual practice. If you’ve cast your chart before and you have a rudimentary understanding of the planets, signs and houses, you’re good. If you have less than this amount of knowledge, you will likely be able to catch the essentials quickly.
If you are concerned about not having the appropriate technical skillset but really feel this course is for you, I recommend adding a 45min 1:1 session. This way we can get you up to speed real quick.
I’m a professional astrologer. Is this course too beginner for me?
Astrologer Professionals who would like a deeper understanding of the third house will likely still get a lot out of this course as it brings together multiple lineages of facts and philosophies that extend far beyond what is traditionally listed in core texts. Astro-enthusiasts with less elaborate technical skillsets will be totally comfortable participating as well.
